The CAMHS Crisis & Liaison Service supports children and young people up to age 18 who are experiencing a mental health crisis.
The team includes specialist mental health nurses who can:
Provide urgent mental health assessments
Offer immediate support and safety planning
Advise families and carers
Liaise with schools, hospitals and other professionals
Support young people already open to CAMHS during crisis episodes
The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via the NHS 111 mental health option.
If a young person is already open to CAMHS, families are encouraged to contact their existing CAMHS team during working hours.
Outside of those hours, the crisis team responds.
